We had an incredible experience on the VW Safari Tour, visiting Small Medium Enterprise (SME) and Balkondes Karangrejo on 30 January 2025, a shining example of a successful CSR project. Initially funded by Pertamina in its first year, this initiative has flourished over the past seven years, focusing on restaurants and homestays surrounded by breathtaking paddy fields, Mount Menoreh, and Borobudur Temple. 🏞️✨
What makes this project special? It’s owned by the village community and managed by passionate local champions, ensuring sustainable growth. Beyond tourism, it also strengthens the village’s economic ecosystem, supporting honey and palm sugar production, among other local enterprises.
Recognised as Desa Wisata Keberlanjutan Indonesia (Sustainable Tourism Village), Balkondes Karangrejo is a true testament to the power of community-driven sustainability. We are inspired by their journey and the lasting impact on the local economy! 🚀🌍
