We had the privilege of visiting the Farming & Tourism Discussion at Nglanggeran Tourism Village on 30 January 2025, a remarkable example of sustainable tourism and community empowerment. 🌿✨
Since 2007, the village has focused on education and development, proving that long-term commitment leads to success. It took four years before they secured funding from major companies, showcasing the power of persistence. Their dedication has earned them the title of Desa Wisata Keberlanjutan Indonesia (Sustainable Tourism Village).
Nglanggeran’s collaborative approach—working closely with local partners, universities and aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—is truly inspiring. This ongoing initiative thrives because of the local champions who drive accountable and impactful actions.
